History
Leatrice Naylor was born on October 20, 1970 in Anchorage Alaska to the late Ret. Major John L. Anderson and Bea Anderson. She is married to her best friend Ret. LTC Larry D. Naylor and also the mother of 3 beautiful girls. She has always had the inspiration of one day owning her own business and being successful enough to reach back and help others.
She started working hard early during her college years at the prestigious all women’s Columbia College in Columbia South Carolina by graduating from the 4 year college in just 2 ½ years with honors. Although she was told that it was impossible and difficult, her determination to succeed ultimately prevailed. After graduation she joined her husband in North Carolina and started her life as a military spouse. Over the next few years she would have the urge to start a business.
As a stay at home mother and military wife she would constantly find many opportunities were she did extremely well, but that just was not satisfying like starting and creating her own dream. She vividly remembers on her birthday while living in Honolulu, Hawaii she received a call from her pastor’s wife who told her that she must speak with her immediately. Little did she know that what Mrs. McGuinn was about to tell her would be one of the major changes to her life forever!
Once she arrived at her house she was also greeted by the associate pastor’s wife Mrs. Burpo who would relay the exact same dream that was delivered to Mrs. McGuinn. She was told by the two ladies that the night before they both had dreams about her speaking in front of millions of women and having her own product that would be a huge success in the beauty industry. Leaving the house in utter amazement and wondering when this awesome revelation would happen, she couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift.

Over the next few years she went on to continue to start businesses that related to women and again being very successful but nothing would come close to the vision she was given by the two ladies. By this time she was living in Virginia were she gave birth to her third daughter. On a beautiful Sunday morning while preparing the girls for church her middle daughter expressed how she had a very bad headache.
Although the mother instinct kicked in and she wanted to keep her home that day she knew that her daughter’s appearance at church was important because she was the soloist for two songs that day. Praying that the headache would go away and pressing on, what would happen next ultimately would change the Naylor family for life and also starts the beginning of the vision the two ladies in Honolulu Hawaii told her 10+ years before. Her daughter never sang those two solos but instead ended up in the emergency room where later the doctor’s would tell her that she had a tumor on her brain the size of a golf ball.
She was quickly medivac to Georgetown University Hospital and the following Wednesday would go through major brain surgery. The family would later learn that the tumor was malignant and chemo and radiation was needed. This experience taught Leatrice that life can change in a moment and you have to make the best of it as if it will be your last.
Over the next year she saw her daughter go through some tough times but without complaint or questions as to “why me”? She felt that if a 10 year old can go through times like that and not complain than starting a business and fulfilling a dream should be a piece of cake. The problem was she had no idea what business or dream she was speaking about. She did know that she loved speaking in front of people and she loved to help other women feel good about themselves, but what she would invent was never in her thought …….ever!
Having three girls two of which were now teenager and on their menstrual cycle, there was now much drama and emotions associated with that time of the month. Her daughter who was now healthy, still had the doctor’s concerned that she may have difficulties with having a cycle, and because of this she especially played a vital role in this product invention. As a mother, Leatrice didn’t want her to have to worry about anything else in her life the way she did with her treatments.
After watching her teenage daughters’ frustration with the constant mishaps of the period, expensive panties being destroyed, and their worry about the possibility of not being prepared at school or when they were away from home, she realized this difficult time of the month was going to be even more emotional for them and decided to search for a way to avoid any undue stress.

Researching and finding that there were no alternatives to solve all of these problems, she decided to find her own solution to their problem and create something for them and Menzies™ was born! She further realized that this is not just a teenager’s frustration or one that pertains only to a females monthly cycle. Females, have many different issues that can cause embarrassing moments, at one time or another. She didn’t know of anyone who likes to constantly wash panties or carry an extra pair in their purses…just in case! What happens when your period comes unannounced and you have an accident in the panties you’re wearing? It is an issue that many of us face.
After thinking about all of the problems that needed to be addressed, she soon realized that Menzies could solve other problems females deal with on a daily basis. For aging women, Menzies could replace having to wear bulky pull-ups to guard against leakage and other urinary issues. Female soldiers could feel confident during field exercises and Menzies would eliminate the need to carry multiple products. Pregnant women sometimes feel unattractive after giving birth because of the huge pads they are required to wear. These are just some examples; the list goes on.
Leatrice says that it is a wonderful feeling to know that she has been able to help so many females with issues they never seem to pay much attention to because there was just no other way. She is honored to be able to share Menzies™ with you and hope that it brings a sense of comfort back into that time of month or day.
